The Safe AI Fund (SAIF) is an early-stage venture fund founded and run by Y Combinator President emeritus, Geoff Ralston. We are dedicated to supporting startups developing tools to enhance AI safety, security, and responsible deployment.
We are looking for great founders, with deep expertise in their chosen domain and a scalable and monetizable idea that aligns with AI Safety.
SAIF provides initial funding of $100,000 on a safe (pun intended) with a $10mm cap and mentorship, with the goal to get each startup funded successfully launched. This will usually mean admission into Y Combinator (YC) and/or additional seed and Series A funding.
We intend to predominantly fund startups in the US, but are open to funding startups anywhere the opportunity is compelling. Each startup funded will have the ability to schedule weekly office hours with Geoff at least until they are accepted into YC or close their seed round.
Advice: Each startup will be able to schedule a weekly office hour with Geoff to discuss the current state of the business.
Y Combinator: We will prepare startups who wish to apply to YC for their interview, help refine their pitch, growth strategy, and positioning.
Funding Network: We will introduce portfolio companies to leading AI-focused VCs, institutional investors, and strategic corporate partners.
